K59 Support For New Scheduled Services Secure

Brylaine are now pleased to be able to announce that a new, more comprehensive timetable for the K59 service will commence on 3rd April 2018 thanks to successful negotiations with Lincolnshire County Council, who have agreed to financially support extra departures during the day.

There is no doubt that the pressure of local representations and petitions helped to secure this funding by identifying the issues caused by the recent reductions in this service. However, petitioners should be aware that the contract is for 3 years only with annual reviews. We still need to see an increase in patronage to secure the future of the service.

Financial support for any service is always temporary, and is there only to give operators the opportunity to build a service that eventually proves to be independently sustainable.

We would ask that residents along the route would consider perhaps a change of habit by leaving the car at home once a week or more, or using our ever popular family day ticket for just £12.50, covering return trips for 2 adults and up to 3 children, or perhaps persuading the teens to take the bus rather than the taxi of Mum & Dad. Of course, concessionary pass holders have unlimited access to services so make sure you take that day trip out with friends, make new friends and don't just use it for shopping!

Please remember that, as budgets become further squeezed, we will only be able to negotiate support, if needed, for those services we can show are regularly and consistently patronized.

Thank you for your continued support
