Schools going back - Information on duplicated transport services, onboard travelling requirements and service updates.
September 2020 sees the return of schools and school based services back onto the bus networks. Only this year we have some changes.
Capacity on public transport remains limited given the requirements for social distancing; so we have been working with the Local authorities to put in place a network based on local demand for general public services, and we have supplemented the public bus network, and existing home to school transport, with additional buses, to ensure that children can travel to school safely, and disruption for all passengers on the public network is minimised.
Children returning to school and travelling to school onboard any bus or coach will be asked to wear a face covering. If you or your child is exempt when travelling please download an exception card to show to the driver. This government website page should give you all the information and assets you will need. FACE COVERING
All of our vehicles are fitted with hand sanitiser and every person travelling will be asked to use it upon boarding the vehicle. We will also be carrying individual masks for sale at 20p each for those who may have forgotten or lost their mask.
Please remember we still operate with Smartcards for those not wishing to use cash and we hope to have a fully operational cashless system onboard by the second week of Sept 2020. Our apologies we had hoped to have this in place for schools returning but we will keep you updated.
TRAVELLING SAFE - SERVICE CHANGES
In order to deliver the capacity required for education transport it has meant that some of our single daily return services will only carry students.
For clarity STUDENTS are: Any fare paying students attending school, college or HFE, school or college pass holders or LCC education transport pass holders.
Services that will no longer carry the general public and only students are:

MAIN SERVICES - WILL OPERATE DUPLICATE BUSES FOR STUDENTS
We will also have duplicate buses at peak periods carrying ‘Students Only’. The destination blinds on the front of the buses (for example) will read K59 Boston Students.
As both the main services and student only buses will be operating at the same time on these key routes, please ensure you read the destination blind at the font of the base to ensure that you are boarding the correct vehicle .
These duplicate buses carrying ‘Students Only’ will operate on the following routes.
B11 0745 Spilsby to Boston & 1520 PM return to Spilsby (Schools)
B13 Boston - Spalding & Spalding - Boston (Schools AM/PM)
K59 Boston - Spalding & Spalding - Boston (Schools AM/PM)
IC5 Dunston - Coningsby & Coningsby - Dunston (Schools)
Commuters and concessionary pass holders can continue to use the bus services as normal as all the key services will operate but with social distancing onboard.
Again please ensure you wear a face covering and sanitise your hands when boarding.
SPLIT LEVEL BUS SERVICES - NEW
In order to ensure the more remote villages still have a bus service at peak periods, we are operating a split level bus. We will be asking general commuters to occupy the downstairs and we will direct all students upstairs. This ensures the minimum amount of interaction. Again, everyone will be asked to wear a face covering and sanitise their hands upon boarding.
Effected services are :
A6 Horncastle - Boston & Boston - Horncastle (Schools both directions AM/PM)
B15 Woodhall - Boston both directions
B11 0745 AM Boston - Spilsby & 1540 Boston - Spilsby return
We apologise in advance if any of these changes effect your ability to use the bus transport network. If we are unable to accommodate your needs through the services we provide then please contact Call Connect or call 0345 456 44 74 to arrange alternative transport.
As always we will do our very best to help if you have any specific enquires please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
