Training To Be A PCV Driver
We've got positions available for PCV holders or trainee drivers - don't worry if you haven't got your PCV licence yet, our training school will get you on the road in no time. We'll give you a recognised national qualification in Passenger Transport. The qualification is fully funded by us, and you'll earn the equivalent of a fully qualified driver.

Interested?
To apply for a role at Brylaine you'll have been a resident in the UK for 6 months or more. You will also need to hold a full EU/UK driving licence which should have no more than 3 points on it and have had no driving bans within the last 5 years. All applicants must be over 21 years of age, have been driving a vehicle regularly during the last 12 months and should have held their licence for at least 2 years.
STAGE 1.

Interview Selection Process & Interview.
You will be asked to undertake a mock driver theory
You will be asked to undertake a mock hazard awareness test.
If the interview is successful you will then be asked to:
1) Apply for and hold a provisional PCV D licence,
2) Undertake an enhanced DBS check and
3) Undertake a medical.
Upon successful completion of all four aspects you will be offered a role and accepted into Driver Training.
STAGE 2.
Training is fully funded by Brylaine and will be paid at £11.00 per hour. It is expected to take 6 weeks before being fully qualified, with further training on specific aspects of day to day, safety regulations and passenger safety, ticket machines, information systems and processes.
STAGE 3.
Continued training on routes, vehicle types and passenger charters on an hourly rate of £11.50.00, after 12 months the rate will be in line with current drivers at £12.00 (as of June 2023 - Review August 23).
Bus driving is a job for life, its different everyday.
